Rockin' and Rollin'

21 May 2010, storm arrives

The day after recovering the tripods a storm hit the region, and the weather and seas got ugly... eventually  But, we really have a lot to get done, so we decided to head out and try to do some work.  The ship got away from the dock about 630, and we made some good progress but eventually the storm conditions caught up with us and coring became unsafe.  As we moved offshore to our next site, I (JP) decided it really had gotten too rough to operate safely.  This ended our day short, but we were safe and had gotten some samples, so we were very happy.

  1. bummer that the storm showed up when the tripods were not in the water(?). How inconsiderate of it!

Sounds like you guys did great, congratulations.
