Antarctica!

We've finally arrived… and it was worth waiting for. It was cloudy
as we steamed between the South Shetland Islands off the northwestern
edge of the Antarctic Peninsula. But, a break in the clouds allowed us
to see the icy coast along which we passed. The sun beamed onto the
shore as if to highlight the spectacular beauty of the landscape. The
whole science party and much of the crew gathered on the deck to marvel
at the sights. Smiles adorned the onlookers who were awe-struck by the
impressive views.

We are excited to see more.
